Creating a theme and its place together

The unity of a theme usually already exists, but such unities need not be established beforehand. There could be a themed place that represented a unity that was being established at the same time as the place. Corporations might do this for their employees. Puroland park in Tokyo celebrates Hello Kitty, which is a cute image that almost any product can license. The brand was established before the park, but they could have originated together in a giant marketing extravaganza. The place could be set up as referring to the theme as if the theme was long established, but in fact the theme and the distance between the place and the theme could be created along with the place It is the act of referring to the theme as already established that establishes it, opening up the gap between the theme and the local instance.
